An Introduction to Slot Machine Games

Slot machine games are one of the most favored games to gamble on at casinos. On any given night, count on most of the slot machines to be packed with enthusiastic players. They come in a multitude of wagering levels; a few only cost $.05 a play and others can cost upwards of twenty dollars a play. Although slots are a gambling tool, many people are intimidated by the high-dollar card tables and like the fun and excitement of a great one arm bandit.

The first mechanical slot machine was assembled in Eighteen Ninety Five and was dubbed the "Liberty Bell." Created by a California auto mechanic, the 1st slot machines had 3 spinning reels with a cracked Liberty Bell, diamonds, hearts, and spades on each. Prior to this invention, the term "slot machines" was used to describe several kinds of vending machines.

The initial across the board use of slot machines in American brick and mortar casinos is credited to the Flamingo Hotel, Vegas in and around 1940. The head of the casino had originally thought the slot machines would be perfect to fascinate apathetic wives of a few of the largest high roller customers of the casino. Little did he know that slot games would be an enjoyable game for almost everyone and that the allure would go further than the apathetic wives. Now, it is said, slots comprise in excess of 2/3rds of all income generated by American casinos.

Slot machine games beyond a doubt have a full history. From the petite invention of the late-19th century to the multi-million dollar sector of today, slot machines will continue to develop in prominence.
